John and the Dog Part 1

I was walking down the street until I saw a stray dog on the opposite side of the road. I was surprised to see a Dachshund walking on the sidewalk by itself.

OK, before I spit out anything else I would like to tell you more about me. My name is John Murphy. I am 13 years old and currently in the 8th grade. My dad’s name is Dominic, and he owns an alcohol shop called DM Liquor. My mom's name is Stacey, and she owns a Coffee shop called Murphy’s Coffee.

Today my mom took a day off to clean the house, so she asked me to help her with some of the chores. I then replied to her that I did not want to the chores, which then got her mad. My mom started lecturing me that she was not the only one living in the house, and that everyone should help clean. We then had an argument, and my mom got mad when she sent me outside. She told me that I could not come back until dad came back from work.

I decided to go for a walk around the park but just as I left home, I saw a Dachshund walking by itself. At first, I thought it might be a stray dog but as I looked closer, I saw a collar around its neck. I approached the dog, trying not to startle it, and as I got to the dog, I saw an address on the dog’s collar. The address read “4 O'Connell street”

I realised that this dog might be my friend Rodger Williams’ dog, Jeffrey. I remembered him telling me at school that his dog was lost and that if we saw him, we should take him back to his house. I wanted to surprise him, so I started to walk towards Rodger’s house until I saw the dog running in circles. I figured that the dog might need to go to the bathroom. Luckily, the park was on the way to Rodger’s house, so we made a pit stop at the park and I let the dog do its business. I was happy the dog did not need to go No.2, otherwise I would need to pick it up and put it in the bin.

As we got closer to Rodger’s house, I saw my other friend Stewart Nicholas riding his bike. He stopped next to me and asked if it was my dog. I said to him that it was not mine, and that it was Rodger’s missing dog. I told him that I was heading up to Rodger’s house and that he could come with me if he wanted to. He said that he needed to get home because there were guests coming to his house soon after.
